Michael Rogers, a professor in the Studio Arts Glass Program at the Rochester Institute of Technology, came to our campus for a visit last November. Michael has decided to retire this year from RIT and pursue full-time his studio practice.
He gave a lively lecture on his work, both his studio-based objects and his collaborative, global ventures. Michael is a world traveler; he came to RIT after spending eleven years in Japan where he was head of Aichi University’s Glass Program. In addition to these activities he has an ongoing relationship with North Lands Creative Glass located in the small fishing village of Lybster, on the northeast coast of Scotland.
